Building Health: The Bainey Group’s Construction of TB1 Fund Pediatric Rehab Facility and Family Lounge at Children’s Masonic Hospital
Where Healing Meets Comfort
At The Bainey Group, we are passionate about creating spaces that support healing, comfort, and community. Our recent collaboration with the TB1 Fund and AECOM at Children’s Masonic Hospital reflects our dedication to designing facilities that meet the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families. Through the construction of the Pediatric Rehab Facility and Family Lounge, we aimed to create an environment where recovery and support go hand in hand.
The TB1 Fund, founded by Braxton (aka Brax) a beloved community member, is focused on improving the hospital experience for children and their families. The new Pediatric Rehab Facility and Family Lounge were designed to provide a space where pediatric patients can receive specialized rehabilitation care while families have a welcoming place to relax and recharge.
The TB1 Fund Pediatric Rehab Facility and Family Lounge stand as a testament to the power of community and compassion. These spaces reflect the TB1 Fund’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of pediatric patients and their families. The Bainey Group is honored to have been part of this meaningful project, contributing to the creation of a space where healing and family support are at the heart of the experience.
Tailored for Healing and Family Support
The Bainey Group worked closely with Children’s Masonic Hospital, AECOM, and the TB1 Fund to design a facility that fosters both physical recovery and emotional support. Our goal was to create a space that blends state-of-the-art rehabilitation services with a warm, comforting environment for families, ensuring that every child and their loved ones feel supported throughout the recovery process.
This project was more than just construction; it was about crafting an environment where children could feel comforted and inspired during their journey to recovery. Here are some of the thoughtful elements that went into the design
A Room Designed with Care and Purpose
Key Elements of the TB1 Fund Pediatric Rehab Facility and Family Lounge Project:
- Healing-Centered Design: The Bainey Group worked with AECOM to incorporate elements of design, using natural soothing color palettes, and views of nature to create an environment that promotes healing. The facility’s design prioritizes patient well-being, ensuring that both physical recovery and emotional healing are supported through every detail of the space.
- Feature Walls and Encouraging Words: Vibrant feature walls were adorned with words of encouragement inspired by Brax, whose vision was central to this project. These messages serve as a source of motivation and positivity for children and families alike.
- Private Therapy Room: Understanding that every child’s rehabilitation journey is unique, this private therapy room is where patients can work one-on-one with their therapists. This room is designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for personalized care, allowing children to focus on their recovery without distraction.
- Natural Light and Views: Large windows were incorporated to bring in natural light, offering children a connection to the outdoors. The feeling of sunlight and the ability to see the world outside provide a sense of freedom and joy during rehabilitation.
- State-of-the-Art Pediatric Rehab Facility: The rehab facility was designed to meet the unique physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy needs of pediatric patients. With specialized equipment and adaptable therapy rooms, the facility allows for a wide range of therapeutic activities that promote strength, mobility, and cognitive development in a child-friendly environment. Bright colors, natural light, and playful design elements help make the rehab experience as welcoming as possible for young patients.
- Patient Lift: A state-of-the-art lift system was installed to provide ease and safety for both patients and caregivers, ensuring that every child’s therapy experience is as seamless as possible.
- Custom Casework: Clean and functional casework was designed to create an open and organized environment, fostering a sense of calm and order for patients and their families.
- Family Lounge: Recognizing the importance of family support during a child’s hospital stay, we created a dedicated Family Lounge adjacent to the rehab facility. This space provides a comfortable, quiet area where parents, siblings, and caregivers can relax, recharge, or gather for family discussions. With cozy seating and entertainment for children, the Family Lounge offers a much-needed reprieve from the stresses of hospital life.
- Future-Ready Layout: As medical care continues to evolve, so too must the spaces that support it. We designed the Pediatric Rehab Facility with flexibility in mind, allowing for future technological upgrades and potential expansions as the hospital’s needs grow. This ensures that Children’s Masonic Hospital can continue providing cutting-edge care to pediatric patients in the years to come.
A Collaborative Partnership
The success of this project was the result of close collaboration between the TB1 Fund, Children’s Masonic Hospital, AECOM, and The Bainey Group. From the initial design to the final construction, our teams worked together to create a space that not only meets the hospital’s operational needs but also provides a healing, supportive environment for patients and families alike.
By focusing on creating a facility that balances advanced medical care with emotional support, The Bainey Group delivered a space that reflects the mission of the TB1 Fund and Children’s Masonic Hospital.
